Helen Ferrelli, lovingly known as Yiayia, is an integral part of our story. In Greek, “Yiayia” means “grandmother,” a title that reflects the nurturing, wise, and loving nature Helen brings to everything she does. Her Greek name, Eléni, means “light” or “torch,” which embodies the warmth, strength, and guidance she provides both to her family and our amazing community.
From the start, Helen has been a guiding force behind the Ferrelli family’s journey into winemaking. Eléni Syrah is crafted from the oldest Syrah vines in Washington State, located at the legendary Red Willow Vineyard.
